Frogseo against Google Panda 4.1

By Adrián Coutin

A high number of websites have been affected for Google Panda and its frequent updating. More recently Panda's update, Panda 4.1, designed to penalize "thin" or poor content from ranking well.

According to Google sources about 3% to 5% of search queries were affected for Panda 4.1

The Screaming Frog SEO Spider, commonly known as Frogseo,  offers useful technical information about websites. Frogseo lets us know how any spider scream our websites. Frogseo can detect many problems with server, content, web programming, etc.

Size and Word Count

Frogseo offers two key data that help us to detect thin or poor content, Size and Word Count.

Analyzing data

Export function is a quite easy way that let us get data in CSV format. All data obtained from screaming a website can be export to Excel or any other software that read CSV.

Word Count less than 165 word?

In an Excel spreadsheet we can import file  internal_all.csv. It lets us process data more easy. Column Word Count can be filtered.

Which is the number of word that Google evaluate as thin content? We don't know the exact number, some experts mentions 165 other 190. You can start with 165 word identifying the total number of web pages that have less than  it and percentage that represent these pages.

In this example I made a filter to know those pages with less than 190 words and this website has more than 500 web pages in this situation.  So is necessary delete these pages or increase the number of words in them.
