Google Core Update May 2020 - Some observations

Google Core Update, simultaneously deployed in all language versions of Google, landed on Google's search results, SERPs, on May 6.

We all know the disruptions introduced by updates of the type "core", because they often introduce improvements in algorithms that cause severe adjustments in the first rankings of positions in all Google indexes, and in all versions of the language.

Web broadcasting  events has become a more frequent fact in the Internet world. These services are  being highly demanded by the user community.

The actual situation indicate that this trend will consolidate and new events will be broadcast directly through various web platforms. Example: congress, seminars, conferences. On the other hand the highlighted rich snippets in search results are the summary of a response that can satisfy the user's concern on its own, without the need to click on the search results.

Google Webmaster tools are useful for controlling content processed by Google. However Semrush  provides important data that allow us to analyze Web sites affected by Google Panda helping us to work on solving penalties generated by this algorithm.

Meta tags forgotten: "NOODP" "NOYDIR"

Short History

Backlinks from directories were links with high value for any web pages. Directories as Dmoz and Yahoo! were used for link builders as main sources of quality links some time ago.

Dmoz was the most important directory for Google. In fact it was the  Google Directory source some time, when directories were used as information source. Dmoz is, in fact, a directory edited for humans so linkbuilders can't manipulate very easy. I remember some years ago, probably 2008, that SEO expert Danny  Sullivan said that obtain an link from Dmoz is the same that win the lottery.
